Next Quiz will take place between Monday, Novemeber 14th and Wednesday, November 16th.

October 4th, 2011

Dear Parents,

It has been a great first quarter! I can hardly believe it is coming to an end. This first quarter has been filled with learning classroom routines, class and school wide expectations, foundational number sense skills and problem solving strategies. In addition, we are working towards fluency in the four basic operations.

It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom. I have high expectations for all of my students. I am asking for your help to maintain those expectations by checking with your son/daughter periodically to see if they are completing their work, staying organized, and using their planners in an effective way. Also, please make sure you are checking Infinite Campus regularly for updates on your child’s progress.

Below are a few updates and reminders.  PLEASE remember to check our school website regularly for school information, and my blog for Math information, announcements, and homework assignments.

  •  My classroom is open to any and every student who wants to stay after school to complete their homework and/or get any extra help they may need. I am there until at least 4:30 Monday through Thursday.
  • Report Cards will be printed on Monday, October 10th, 2011.
  • PARENT/TEACHER Conferenceswill be held on Tuesday, October 11th and Wednesday, October 12th from 4pm to 9pm in each of your child’s classrooms.  If your last name begins with A-M please try to come on Tuesday and N – Z, please try to come on Wednesday.  If you cannot make it on your designated day, please try to come on the other day. No need to make an appointment; feel free to visit with any teacher sometime during conference hours.   For Math, I am asking that you bring your child, as I would like them to participate as well.
  • Due to conferences there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 14th or Monday, October 17th.  Enjoy the Fall Break.
  • Harvest HOP – Our annual Harvest Hop will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 4pm to 7:30pm.  We need candy donations to make this event successful.  The homeroom that has the most candy donated will earn an Ice-Cream Sundae party.  Please label the bags of candy with Eaton (202) and have your child bring them in anytime between now and October 20th.  Thank you for anything you are able to donate.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time throughout the year if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.  My e-mail address is aeaton@bromleyeastcs.org. I am looking forward to a successful year with your child!

Sincerely,

Ms. Eaton
